Some Good News…

To start 2026 – a synopsis of some of the many positive things that happened in 2025. It’s a long read but worth the time – it will help you reframe and see all the doom and gloom differently.

I recommend you read it.

  1. I will go read it but first I would like to say welcome back to the blog world. I was hoping you would pop back. Hope all is well with you personally. Happy New Year Judith. Bernie

    • It’s been a while, I know. I’ve been battling colds since early November – on top of my chronic cough, the coughing has been horrific. This second cold was finally tamed with some antibiotics and prednisone. I’m coughing much less now and I’ve got my fingers crossed that it may stay that way!

I have a show coming up from mid-June to end of July at our Central Library in downtown Halifax. I’ve more than enough quilts to show, but I want to make at least one (and possibly two) new quilts to display. I have been making pants for myself while I’ve been awol; I’ve taught a couple of classes on making/fitting pants, I made a gazillion Danish Paper Stars for the folks in my building (took 7 evenings to make the number I needed).

The colds left me no energy, no incentive to do much of anything but read the political folks I follow. I’m finally feeling like a real person again. Celebrating my 83 birthday tomorrow – having a lunch party on Saturday with neighbours in the building and other friends. It’s all feeling bizarre!

On Monday, I finally managed to get back to the pool after five weeks absence – my back has desperately needed the water aerobic workout – it’ll take a few weeks for my body to regain its strength back. And life goes on.

Happy New Year, Bernie. May 2026 bring you health, tranquility, and interesting adventures!
