This is the finished quilt! Added the binding this morning.
Other side – I hesitate to call it “back” since what I have is a two sided quilt – either side could be “front”.
Close up showing the quilting – I used a 50wt variegated thread so the stitching is subtle – the point was simply to quilt the piece – not make the stitching the focus. I used a dark variegated thread on the other side so it shows even less there.
Sorry I didn’t have a pattern. I saw a picture and figured the block out for myself. It’s a square (likely 6.5”) with two right angled triangles added to each side. I had to experiment a bit to get the triangle sizes to work because of the 1/4” seam allowances. I wouldn’t be surprised if you could find a pattern in one if the earlier Kaffe Fassett quilt books but I have no idea which one.
Could you tell me what pattern you used…. I love it
Judy, I think I found a pattern for you: https://www.shopmartingale.com/new-cuts-for-new-quilts.html?utm_source=Stitch+This%21+blog&utm_campaign=35879ce846-Daily+Email%2C+Quilting&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_ab6bb44864-35879ce846-304550749
It appears to be called something like “Stack The Deck” technique? I did think it was a Kaffe Fassett pattern but I couldn’t find it anywhere when I searched for his work.
That looks like it…. Thank you so much for finding that!!
